How do I access items in Special Collections?
I found an item in Special Collections - how do I get access to view it?
Answer
Special Collections is a locked collection of older, often Adventist or local history materials. Because of their age and condition, these items are available only by appointment and request.
If you have an item that is in special collections you may first want to determine if another copy of that item is in the Main Stacks (our circulating collection), a copy is available through Summit Borrowing, or if a newer edition that is circulating is acceptable for your use.
Once you've determined that this is the item you would like to use, you will want to contact archives@wallawalla.edu with information about the title you would like to access (use the permalink to share the item). From that point you can set up an appointment and learn more about the restrictions for the particular item that you will be viewing.
