What are typical library policies and services available?

Answer

Research support

Drop-in Research is available in PML through chat (use the Ask Us button on this page, or from the Library Website or Research Central) or by request at the Library Information Desk, Monday through Thursday afternoons. Chat may be available at other times as staff availability allows. Students can connect to librarians through email (Reference@wallawalla.edu) and our LibAnswers platform. Students can also schedule an appointment on Teams or in Peterson Memorial Library to speak with one of our librarians. In addition to these services you can browse our LibGuides for suggested search tools and research tips for your class or discipline.

Ebooks & Online Periodicals

All online resources in our databases and through Research Central are available to students on-campus or off. Ebooks may be accessed in Research Central by limiting your search availability to WWU Online Resources or item type to 'Ebooks'. Full-text articles may be found in many of the databases including EBSCO and ProQuest databases.

If you have challenges accessing these materials with your login, please contact us and we will try to get that fixed. If you are struggling to connect to full-text, email the citation to the reference account listed above and someone will check it for you.

For students who have access to the College Place campus, books and media materials may be checked out at the Library Information Desk, or via scheduled pick-up. For students, faculty, and staff cleared for the College Place campus stacks are now open for browsing. Limited copies may be requested from books or articles in our physical collection for graduate students who are not on campus. Check with interlibrary loans for more about this service.
