How do I search for articles in Research Central?

Answer

Research Central is the main search box on the WWU Libraries website. This is a discovery system that searches our local Walla Walla University catalog, our Summit libraries collection, and articles from many databases and full text subscriptions.

Selecting articles before you search is the easiest way to only find articles. Everything also includes articles as well as books, ebooks, and Summit borrowing items. After you search use refine your results to limit to 'peer reviewed journals', or other types of sources, subjects, or dates. If you select the Full Text Available link when looking at a citation, you should be linked to the database or databases that provide the full text for that item.

The 3 minute video below walks you through searching for articles.

Research Central links to many sources and sometimes full text wires get crossed, so if you have difficulty accessing full text, send the citation to reference@wallawalla.edu and a librarian will help you out.

If you are only searching for articles, you may find one of our Interdisciplinary databases such as Academic Search Premier, or Gale Academic OneFile, will provide more relevant results.
