Where are comfortable study areas in the library?
I'm looking for a comfortable space to study in the library, what are good options?
Answer
In the library we love to curl up with a good book and let knowledge seep into our brain – these are the best places to do so (in our opinion!).
Livingston Room
Comfortable lounge seating for groups of 3 - 4, but there are also tables and chairs, our juvenile book collection, and power outlets that you can use for laptops or other devices. Find it on the Red Level.
Reference Room
We feel smarter just walking into the reference room and you will too! There are armchair style seating areas where you can enjoy the ambiance of books and quiet study spaces while you read or research with reference books. You'll also find tables and power outlets for your electronic devices so you can spread out books and notes. The Reference Room is a quiet study area and is located on the Green Level.
North Cascades Study Area
The North Cascades Study Area has a number of carrels for individual study, but is also home to the Mount Shuksan study nook where you can find comfortable seating, green plants, and a great view. While noise can carry in from the Lobby or the Gold Level stacks, the North Cascades Study Area is for quiet study and is located on the Green Level.
Blue Mountain Study Nook
The Blue Mountain Study Nook is located on the Gold Level and is also known as the Gold Alcove. This is a favorite place of some students to study, as it is off the main path, and has comfortable seating and a great view.
There are some other comfortable seating areas scattered around the library - come explore the building and find your own favorite!
