How do I cite an item in MLA/APA/Chicago?
I need to know how to cite my sources in APA or MLA citation style. Where can I get information about how to cite in my citation style?
Answer
Our Citation LibGuide provides information on where to find citation info on three major citation styles including MLA, APA, and Chicago/Turabian. The guide includes basic citations, links to current handbooks and stylebooks in the library, and links to websites that are available that may help you correctly format your style.
You can find ready made citations in Research Central, ProQuest & EBSCO databases and sometimes other databases. Simply select your style, copy and paste, and then check capitalization and spacing as well as other formatting issues to be sure.
To refine and check formatting, the library keeps the most recent print manuals for MLA, APA, and Chicago/Turabian style in the reference room and as a reserve copy at the Library Information Desk, call number information for these titles can be found on the linked LibGuide.
If you still have questions you can set up an appointment with a Librarian for assistance with a specific type of item and style, or utilize the Peer Tutoring service with the Student Development Center.
