Does Peterson Memorial Library have a local history collection?

Our local history collection is narrow in focus, but there are additional resources in the Walla Walla Valley, for those interested in Walla Walla history.

Answer

The following answer is from our special collections librarian. If you have additional questions you can email them at archives@wallawalla.edu

"We do have some local history, but it is very narrow in scope.  Whitman’s Northwest Archive and Fort Walla Walla Museum have more extensive local collections than we do.

We have the standard histories of the area in our main stacks.  We have institutional materials and a small amount of College Place things in the university archives."

We will be best able to answer and assist with questions centered around Walla Walla College/University, and to a lesser extent College Place. For Walla Walla Valley history, contact Whitman's Northwest Archive and Fort Walla Walla Museum.
